  • Yes, Lumi is autistic. She is highly sensitive, very creative, and sees the world in pictures and stories. But she also struggles with small talk and sometimes takes things too literally. But over the course of the story, she learns that her differences are her strengths.

  • Yes, the book discusses issues like climate change, and how to help preserve our environment – e.g. by reducing food waste.

  • Yes! I’m so proud to represent my beautiful home country in this book. Lumi gets to try ice swimming, sauna, and ice fishing, and learns stories from Sámi folklore during her time in Lapland.

  • For sure! This is a great book to discuss issues like global warming or neurodivergence, but at the same time, it’s a very pacy adventure with high stakes. There are protagonists of both genders, which makes the book very suitable for both girls and boys.

  • Lumi and Wolf come across one dead reindeer. There isn’t any gruesome description of it, but Lumi gets very distressed by the sight.
