Itās finally time to reveal my big secret! My debut middle-grade novel will be published by Hachette Childrenās Group this September. Set in the frozen wilderness of Lapland, Lumi and the Wolf is an epic adventure story about an autistic girl who decides to save her friend, a wild white wolf, from hunters. And when they set out on a journey of 100km, they both find their place in the world. It will be released as a beautiful hardback with a cover by the award-winning Jason Cockroft.

Lovely to meet you!
Hi, my name is Lottie (born Lotta-Sofia) Saahko, Iām the author of eleven books in Finnish, and my English debut is coming this autumn! That means I write books in two languages ā and I speak five. Thatās because I was born in Finland but raised in various countries around the world. Now I live in London.
Additionally to writing and reading, I take aerial hoop classes, and when Iām in Finland, I enjoy ice swimming, cross-country skiing and spending time with my grandfather. He is 90 years old!

I am great with children of all ages. Iāve been doing school and library visits in Finland for over five years and canāt wait to talk to children all around the UK next. I offer:
Traditional author talks, where I introduce my story, how I moved from country to country, how I started writing, and how I wrote this book.
Writing workshops where I teach story structure before we workshop a story together.
Forest Diary Workshops, where we go into the woods or park like Lumi and journal and draw what we hear, see and experience. I can also bring the forest inside!
