How to support a debut author?
Every book, especially a debut, needs a community to lift it. To give my little wolf the best chance of stretching its legs and running far, I need your help!
This book is the beginning of the writing career I’ve dreamed of for years. And you can make a difference!
Pre-Order
Pre-orders are pure magic for debut authors. They tell bookshops and publishers that there’s excitement around a book, which means they’re far more likely to order extra copies, display it, and help new readers discover it.
So even if you’re planning to buy it anyway, getting it early makes a huge difference.
I can’t afford to buy a book. Can I still help?
Yes! Once the book is out, you can request it from your library. This helps more than you might think. Every time someone borrows a library copy in the UK or Ireland, the author receives a tiny payment. You get to read it for free, and I get a few pence to put towards my next coffee. Everyone wins.
Other Ways You Can Help (For Free!)
Little things add up! You can:
• Follow me on Instagram (mute me if you need to, I won’t mind).
• Share my posts about Lumi and the Wolf.
• Tell someone who might love the book, especially parents, teachers and librarians.
• Add the book to your Want to Read on Goodreads, Storygraph etc.
• When you get a copy, leave a review on your online bookshop.
• Post on social media!!!
• If you know someone high-profile who might enjoy the book (authors, actors, influencers), I’d love an introduction. Even one post, quote or share from the right person can help a children’s book travel so much further.
Underrepresented authors need support!
Supporting diverse authors and stories, especially in children’s books, genuinely matters. It means we matter! Thank you for helping keep our stories alive and accessible.
Will you sign my book?
Always. If we’re in the same place at the same time, I’ll happily sign it. Hand me a pen, and I’m yours.
Can I tell you what I thought of the book?
Of course. Praise keeps my heart warm through the Lapland winter. 🥰
