Author Talk

I read a lot of books, about 150 books every year. My reading taste is very varied, I read a fun mix of magical middle grade novels, domestic / psychological thrillers, as well as some literary fiction, romance and magic (witches, time-travel) sprinkled in!

I especially love books that feature my favourite topics:

- multiculturalism (moving abroad / multicultural families)
- autism / neurodivergence (I love an autistic main character!)
- mental health / mental illness (e.g. bipolar, schizophrenia)
- sisters / sibling relationships
- authors and writing
- dark academia (boarding school or university settings)
- ballet and theatre
- old people (and dementia – I’m my grandpa’s carer!

An author visit, the author is on stage giving a presentation with a large screen behind her displaying various images and texts, including books and people. The pupils is seated in front of her in a darkened room with stage lighting overhead.
